About the Artist
Anika Reichert is a visual artist based in Berlin, working primarily in abstract painting.
Her work invites viewers to pause, reflect and engage on a personal level. Rather than offering fixed meanings, her paintings remain open and encourage personal interpretation. They are intended not only to be visually appealing, but to create space for individual experiences, thoughts, and emotions to emerge.
Reichert works intuitively and process-oriented, mainly with acrylic on canvas and mixed media. Her paintings often begin with a single color as an initial impulse. Forms and surfaces develop intuitively and are layered, reduced, or partially concealed throughout the process. Color serves both as a means of expression and of masking, allowing different emotional layers to coexist within the work.
Composition evolves through continuous response to what is already present on the surface. Lines play an important role as structural elements, reflecting her sociological background by suggesting underlying systems and relationships without defining them explicitly.
Living with Long Covid has influenced her working process. She now works more slowly and in stages, taking time to observe the work over longer periods rather than following the first impulse alone. This approach has led to greater attentiveness, clarity, and depth within the artistic process.
Reichert’s paintings are held in private collections in Europe and Latin America. She shares her work online and through selected exhibitions and collaborations.
